at least Dell answers the phone - politely, and they listen and
try..........

oh well, I guess the can't win them all.......

do check out Sony though before you jump!

YMMV.

As a pc tech, I've worked on a wide variety of brands and have had to
talk to countless cust service techs while working on clients'
systems. In 15 years, Dell is the *only* one I've ever had hang up on
me. I was debating an issue with a tech who wasn't being very
helpful, and while I was talking he cut me off with, "Thank you for
calling Dell, have a nice day." Click.

As bad or incompetent as some of the others brands have been, nobody
else has ever simply hung up on me. And that was an *american*
service tech, not India.

They actually listened to you?
Lucky you. The guy I spoke to constantly interrupted me to summarize the
problem incorrectly. So apparently, he had hardly listened to me.

You beleive it is an experience with Dell.
