Msi board i7 cpu and windows 7 issues

i just upgraded my mother board and cpu plus ram i got an msiz77a-g45 with an i7 3770k unlocked and kingston hyper x ddr3 1600 ram i installed a genuine copy of windows 7 professional and finished all the updates and after two days it suddenly shuts down and the hard drive doesn't read ( it's basically a soft brick) causing me to reinstall and try again i've just updated the bios on the motherboard but has any one else had this type of issue?

Do you have a genuine version of Windows 7 ?
You do not update Bios just because. Bios works on the rule of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." or in this case you could break it.

Regular interval shutdown, I would say you have overheating problems.
