Any body interested in AlarmClock I recently wrote? It asks you how many hours and minutes you wish to sleep, and opens your favorite music (note: sound adjusted by the user) when the time is up. I use it all the time on the road on my laptop.

Price: only $3.99 per license. I accept Visa, Money Orders, personal cheques (must be cleared before downloading). Registration code upon payment. You may try before you buy, but the program without a payment will format yer harddrive for a clean AlarmClock installation.

I want one. Sounds cool, and at least for once I might wake up on time then, well before your "alarm" starts reformatting my disk.

And if I don't, I'll have a good reason to be late to my weekly AA meeting or Weight Watcher meeting, Drug Addict Self Help Group, Veteran Alien Invader club meeting or our monthly protest mars again Discrimination and Extermination of Space Cattle. Sounds like the best idea in years mate, where do I sign up ?

You can get free ones online...and I could write a batch file that does the same (winamp does have a good msdos interface...)

Plus, we used one when drunk and needing to wakeup- amazing how u'll get up when the headphones blast in ur ears.

You sleep with headphones on? You have to be really drunk to do that, but how do you remember to switch the program on if you are "that drunk"?

It is not a beta, it is in Alfa stage, but it works like a Clock. It is a 3.5 KB .vbs file, even you can read it before you try it, it is still a .vbs.. (scarrrry, hehehe).

The thing is that I've tried many ways to "wake myself up" when my Nokia died and I had early morning appointments, so I've tried Scheduled Tasks, counters, and some other junk I cound find, but Scheduler is way too flaky (I don't know why MS still has it there if it is not working 100% of the time). So I spent couple of hours and wolla, it is so good that I am trying to sell it now ;O)>

It has to be more user friendly though, I did it for myself at first, did not even think that it will sell so well ;e>

Where I can send it? And I hope you know it is $3.99 per license, that means one person can use it only one time.

My friend did. And yes, we were all pretty gone (I had 18-19 shots) but we oddly remembered. Hey, I managed to setup a 4 computer network, open my friend's comp and add in an extra 256MB ram, and fix another friends comp. Odd how what ur good at shines thru when ur drunk haha.

April 20, 2004 9:46:44 PM

Hey, I am not saying there are no other things, but there are no such things as mine: it is ONLY 3KB in size (not 1MB, not 500KB, not even 10KB, but only 3KB), and I can trim it down to 1KB if I remove all the "useful" user info, does the same thing as others do, takes 3KB of memory, and cost!!! not $15, not $10, not even $5, but it is ONLY $3.99 per license, which can be used by any one, and only one time.

So, you do the math. And by the way, I would gladly like to see your proof of the "batch file" threat if you can. IF!? you can do it, I am 100% positive it will not do what mine does with 100% accuracy, and can be used by anyone, any time, and cost only $3.99 per license.

So, no body needs the most advanced Alarm Clock there is? That's fine, I will not be selling my stuff here any more. I know better places than this one. This place is no good for business.

Why not just create a scheduled task from the control panel? (Under “Schedule Tasks”) You can execute play lists (.pls) or whatever just like a command line. Takes up no space since it is an OS hook.

I used to work for a big software company, and we've tried to use it for our scheduled tests, it sucked so many times, that we had to write our own "schedulers". Probably you are the lucky one. Anyway, my Alarm Clock is still on sale for $3.99 per license, and you still can buy it and you still can use it one and only time after activating the license. Fell free to contact my sales office.

April 23, 2004 7:28:45 AM

Re: you still can use it one and only time after activating the license.

so you can use it once what good is that? do you at least get to hit snooze for free or is it $3.99 everytime you hit snooze?

If I glanced at a spilt box of tooth picks on the floor, could I tell you how many are in the pile. Not a chance, But then again I don't have to buy my underware at Kmart.
April 23, 2004 7:42:25 AM

There is no "snooze" option in the program, there is a "Pause" option in the player of your choice, and that option you can use for free (even though I think you'll have to hit play again when you'll want to wake up again, which is kind of sucks, caz you'll have to wake up first, which is not fun without something to wake you up first, in which case you'll have to use my Alarm Clock again, which will bring you to get another license anyway, so why don't you get a bulk with of them and be happy for at least a while)

Note: I can do a very limited but still a discount for bulk buys.

Coffee is better and cheaper to wake you up =Þ

Asus P4P800DX, P4C 2.6ghz@3.25ghz, 2X512 OCZ PC4000 3-3-3-8, Leadtek FX5900@450/875, 2X30gig Raid0
April 23, 2004 6:43:21 PM

Coffee is not for waking you up, but for keeping you up, my solution is to make sure you get to your appointment in time, not to sleep in for work, do not miss your lovely date because of your terrible hobbit of sleeping, to make sure you are awake when enemies come in at agreed time, etc.

So for $3.99 you can have all that and more if you buy in bulk licenses. Think about it before you make a terrible decision not to have protection for all your waking up needs.

I just sync my main system to an NTP server and set up a cron job to do that.

April 24, 2004 2:13:41 AM

ha? what is that and how can I do it while on the road?

..this is very useful and helpful place for information...
April 24, 2004 3:09:36 AM

Well, cron is a UNIX convention. Windows does have the Task Scheduler though, which can probably do about the same thing--just run a command at a certain time. Or you could have MS Outlook handle it--it's got a whole set of functionality for managing your schedule and raising audible alarms at certain times.

As for NTP services, if you have Internet connectivity, you can have your comp sync up with any one of the public NTP servers listed at <A HREF="http://www.ntp.org/" target="_new">http://www.ntp.org/&lt;/A>. If you connect to your ISP via DHCP, you may already get NTP syncing configured automatically (but I wouldn't know how to tell in Windows). WinXP and later should recognize when a DHCP server advises it of a certain NTP config.

If you absolutely can't get NTP working, it's not a big deal; it just means you'll have to rely on your system clock to stay accurate on its own.

Comon, peepel, I need to sell at least one copy of my software, what would I think about myself if I won't. This will be a big hit on my pocket. I need to make $3.99 during this year before Christmas shopping starts. Otherwize I would have no money to do all the necessary gift buys for my family. Any body? It is only $3.99. Less than a lunch at McDonalds.

..this is very useful and helpful place for information...
April 26, 2004 8:28:15 AM

Maybe if it can do other things, maybe it'll sell better. How about putting those movies of a Swedish chick playing with her boobs? You can randomize which one it'll play.

So when the alarm rings, you'll have a nice eyeful, fresh every morning.

I do not think there are not honest people out here. I thought all folks out here are legitimate users of softwares and will not let any body to put any software to be illegally used in any way.

Anyway, it is not VB, it is .vbs (I don't think you can do it there), and it is only 3kb in size, and that considering too much of the displayed information just for the heck of it. Its actual size is 1kb. THAT is small and powerful programe I have created, AND it is on sale and is only 3.99 per license which can be used by any one any time and only one time. THAT I consider to be a give away.

At present time I have a SALE going for a limited time, very fresh deal: only $3.88 per license. Don't miss out, whole $0.11 savings per license, consider if you need 100 of them, thats $11.00 savings, WOW, hurry, order NOW.

May 18, 2004 4:23:50 PM

Wow, I don't post here that often, mostly read, but this is making me laugh so hard I can't help commenting. So im kind of late replying, seeing as many people have already made their usefull comments, I'll just end up repeating them then. So its 3.99 (now 3.88 OH YEH!!) every time you want to use it to wake up it costs nearly 4 dollars? What...? Quite expensive just for one use. I could pay a homeless person 4 dollars a week to kick me in the balls every morning and that'd be one hell of an effective alarm clock. Therefor, I win at life, and you lose for making a program thats useless. Ah yes, and also, who the hell cares if its 3kb, I have so much HD space (for porn of course) I wouldn't care if it was 3gigs. Did I mention that I win?

p.s. YOUR FAT

Just because im a hardware newb, doesn't mean I cant break things with a hammer.
May 22, 2004 8:03:52 AM

I am wondering how ignorant peepel these days are! Can you imagine your homeless falls asleep and you are late for the work? How much money will you looze just from that? IT IS incredible!!! My programme WILL save you from going broke!!! And just for you (how nice of me;) I will make it even better deal, how about $3.59 per license (if you get 110 of them at once of coarse)? or I will go even lower - $3.49 for 210.

THAT will save you from loozing your job, or getting late to that lovely date you've being waiting for whole your life, or just to be so proud of yourself that you CAN wake up at THIS or THAT time just by wanting it (and that's thanks to your wize decision to get my wonderful life saving tool you've being looking for), or.. you just name it!

PS: and by the way, have you ever tried your balls kicked at? I would pay half of my life’s savings just to avoid that feeling again!!! So, hurry, get your payment information and we WILL make you life much more enjoyable and rich with waking programme which is offered by my own self just to help all you peepel to be "in shape" every time you need to be.

If you ever sell at least one, invest in some sort of spell checking device that you can pay 4 dollars for every word. yeah...

Just because im a hardware newb, doesn't mean I cant break things with a hammer.
May 22, 2004 9:23:34 PM

Your stoopid yeself, that's why I am trying to sell da stuffs so I can get some brain power tooolzez.

PS: there is no such thing as "spell checking device", there is a "spell checking" programme, and there is more than one of thoze.

PSS: and I can see you don't need my super life saving programme which WILL get you UP and GOING at any time (even it is an only one time per license) and it is now on sale for only $3.59 for 210 licenses with incredible savings of $84. Contact my salse department and you WILL be the lackiestest owner of my super life saving programme that WILL change you sleeping life, because you WILL sleep calmer and deeper with a very important thought on you mind that you WILL be woken up at the time you desire and with the music of YOUR choice that WILL make your waking up life more enjoyable and desirable, so you WILL come back to me asking for MORE of licenses. Hurry, limited offer WILL end soon.

May 23, 2004 3:03:15 AM

this is the biggest piece of crap ever.

3.59 a license

lets say you want to use it 20 times a month.

that would be
$71.80 a month

then say you use it for 1 year

$861.60 a year.

now you probably worked a whole 2 hours on this and that pretty much says that for each person that buys this for a month you are being paid
$35.90 a hour.

that is a incredibly good wage.

but this has got to be a joke cause my stereo does the same thing and yes i can use it on a road trip and anyone can make this program and you are very pathetic and no one would buy a program that they could only use once then have to buy it again.

and also its called using a larm clock

i bought mine for under $10.

you are a sad sad man
May 23, 2004 3:26:26 AM

You should do a little benchmark i sure some athlon useur will be happy to know that there alarm clock is faster on 64 bit mode.

i need to change useur name.
May 23, 2004 6:49:47 AM

Heh, that's intiresting, never thought about that, I will have to test it on both, and probably charge less for Athlon64 because of it being faster than P4 in calculation. Thank you for pointing out.

May 24, 2004 5:25:14 AM

How can you say it sucks if you never even seing it? I bet you will be happy having it for just $3.59 per license (in 210 bulk orders). And by the way I am a happy persona if you please, and am so suttisfied with my life that I've made a super waking programme that will make even more peepel happy for just a little change from the pocket. Don't wait and get busy with ordering my life saver programme while it is on sale, because in a little while it will be more spendy and you will be thinking how fool of you was to pass on this awesome appertunity.

Yeah, right, hehehe, I've spent more than $12 grand and over 6 years to make this kind of stuff, and now just give it fer free? It is on SALE, not on give away.

PS:)  but anyway, I would gladly give a smaller version of it (only 666 bites file size, but works the same;) to you as my firstest customer, no probs, if you'll promisse not to give it away further (I will not put payment checking/HD formatting stuff in there, lol)
