I have a new Dell Vostro 260, with 3GB of RAM, but the problem is, Windows 7 only recognises 877MB RAM the other 2GB is lost in the Hardware reserved RAM. Anyone have any idea what I or Windows have done and how to ge the lost RAM back?
I should also say that it is Win7 enterprise 32-Bit.

Thanks for the help.

Why would you run Win7 32bit on a 64bit machine ?
Go into Bios and limit the memory shared with the video processor.
It's an Intel integrated into cpu and chipset, I suspect a machine not used for video gaming. I would limit the share to 512mb or less.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the help, I was running 32-bit because of company policy. but realising it was a mistake, I've decided to go back to 64-bit.

On a side note, I tried every BIOS option available. but I was limited to only being able to look at what RAM is available and what type my integrated Video card is. Also I did the RMA tests, no faults.

Thanks again for the input :)
