Plug the wireless USB dongle into the back of my computer - straight into the mobo.

However, when I plug the dongle into the case's USB ports, it's fine.

Problems? Whether I'm browing, editing, or gaming the cursor will randomly stop moving or slow to a bad 'update rate' (for lack of better words).

Buying a new mouse doesn't help - I've already upgraded and tried my friends.

Of course I can just leave it plugged into the front, but then my Raidmax Smilodon front panel won't shut all the way and I would rather have other cables for use in the front.

the ports on the front of your pc case are connected to the motherboard too i hope you know.

i'm thinking that the issue is one of the following three:

the usb port in the back is not in perfect working order. perhaps try another one.

having the dongle in the back is interfereing with the wireless signal, though i've never seen this happen.

the mouse signal is getting interrupted at the controller because you're sending alot of usb traffic through it from another device.

sounds like the obvious things to try are to use a usb->ps/2 converter and use the ps/2 plug on your pc...or to try another port on the back of your pc.
