Can I turn off OE6 Blocking?

I have to RghtClick|Properties|Unblock a Word/Excel file every time I
receive it from my co-worker.

How can I disable this blocking 'feature'?

I have turned unchecked the box Tools | Options | Security re:
attachment blocking, so I can save the file just fine, just certain
features are blocked (like updating links) until I manually "Unblock."

Every. Single. Time.

How to disable?

There are 2 options in Tools/Options/Security tab. One is to block attachements and the other is to block images and other HTML content. Have you disabled both of these?

If no joy, do you have an anti-virus program actively scanning the incoming email?

Is Sender using MS Outlook and RTF formatting? Request that (s)he send to
you only using Plain Text.
