P4 2.8e 533fsb 1mb cache

I saw one of these at my local frys the other day and wasnt aware of thier existance. I asked the salesman if it would work on my MB and he said no. I have a EPOX 4G4A+ which supports 533fsb 478pin P4's. He said it wouldnt work on my board because it has a different die cut or something. Can you all confirm this or refute please. If its 478pin and 533fsb, I dont see why it wouldnt work on my board.

The current prescotts offer no real performance advantage over older northwoods, especially with your 4g4a mobo.

So I wouldnt benefit performance wise from the 1MB Cache of the Prescott over the 512kb of the NW?

No. No real gain in nearly all benchmarks. The 2.8 533 prescott doesn't support hyperthreading; another reason to skip it.
