Sager NP8690 would be a good option

Asus - Laptop with Intel® Core™ i7 Processor - Black
G73JH-RBBX05 or RBBX09
Search for these on Best Buy.
The first is a great gaming laptop for 1,200 dollars.
The second is somewhat better mostly because it has more RAM and a larger hard drive. But really, the first is plenty good enough.

They don't sell Sager's here, I guess I'll have to choose for the MSi GX740

If you're looking for gaming performance, you really can't beat a PC for price-performance. If it's an option for you, get a nice PC and a simple laptop.
