I find Canon is generally one of the cheapest.
At least for my model it's cheap.
Epson ink is reasonably priced also.
Lexmark is definitely the most expensive.
I've owned all three.

all ink is expensive, considering the amount of ink in each cartridge.
about a shot glass or two of ink in each.

Check out Lexmark's Pinnacle Pro901, Platinum Pro905 and Prestige Pro805. These models use the inexpensive 105XL high yield black cartridge at $4.99. Here are other ways to save money on ink: Use only high yield 105XL or 100XL color cartridges. These contain almost 3x as much ink for a small increment in price. They are available in most large office supply stores, and online from Lexmark.com. If you purchase multipacks you can save even more.
