sure enough, you have to wonder if the one that is not plugged in is
working or not. i would say no as it would make no sense to hang the
other one behind it if the mounted board was working.

Also, check out the Power Supply...

Where is the Bridge Rectifier (under the heat sink)?
I just had to replace this on my game last week (along with the C10
cap). It goes in the 4 slots under the heat sink.

Maybe I'm wrong here (as I'm at work and not staring at my BK Power
Supply), but doesn't that game have a connector on the bottom
right-hand of the Power Supply for the GI? The GI relay being moved
back onto the Power Supply Board on BK and this causes the GI connector
to get toasted. Heck, I don't even see the GI Relay on this board.

BTW: The Power Supply on BK is the same that is on Solar Fire (as I had
to swap them out while I was repairing my BK Power Supply) so I know it
isn't that I have a "strange" Power Supply on my BK.

Some BK's have system 6 style Power supplies..... is the Transformer in
the head on the one in question?

Yes, the transformer is there and it looks like the GI wiring is coming
from the transformer. This guy has good feedback, maybe he just took
the pic with the second board in there before he changed it out??

The seller is RGP's own Eric A., a/k/a "Mr. Propane Torch." I'm sure
he'll chime in with an answer before long.

Since we're going to pick at this auction:

1) If boards have been gone through to insure years of reliability, then
why:

a) ...does the driver board have the original carbon resistors?
b)... are all the caps on the sound board stock?
c) ..is the big 5V filter cap on the PS board stock?
d) ..is one of the fuses missing in the PS board?

2) Also, WHY would you mount the remote battery pack up on the side of the
head? It seems that gravity would be a factor here - especially during
shipping. Mounting it to the head floor makes much more sense.

3) Finally, the score showing a value of 2.5 million indicates default
memory reset. Hopefully this is due to a recent battery change, or 5101
change, and not a persistant problem relating to either.

I guess if someone is going to say "boards have been gone over to insure
reliability", I would expect at minimum a fresh recap on everything, if not
an upgrade of resistors and interboard connects. THAT would certainly
increase longevity/reliability. Working boards that have stock parts should
be represented as such.

I took this picture when I was trying to fix a problem a while ago with
ghosting digits. It was indeed on the board and the one that is
powering the displays from the pictures in the front is the one that
stayed with the game.

Wow! I really need to chime in here!

First, If it ain't broke don't fix it right? I learned my lesson on the
High Speed.
> b)... are all the caps on the sound board stock?
Yes they are but there is no hum on the sound so why mess with it? I've
had this in my collection for about a year now and have not had one
problem. Again if it ain't broke...
> c) ..is the big 5V filter cap on the PS board stock?
Nope, replaced with a new one when I went through the boards. Chris,
this was the game I got that I asked you about a board set for and then
came across my own set. All of the caps on the PS were replaced
> d) ..is one of the fuses missing in the PS board?
No, those are fuses that were removed durring a system upgrade via
williams.

Hey I thought it looked clean there. I did try to locate it on the
floor but thought it looked messy.

Nope it is due to a KOZ problem. It occurs when you look at an 8.5
million score and know your dad or any of the kids wont ever be able to
touch that score. Hey open the door and hold down a button for a few
seconds and poof no more KOZ there! LOL! :)

The CPU has brand new header pins and I checked out the female side
before I put it in the basement. I flexed the boards while they were
powering up the game and it never skipped a beat.

In addition, The Lower left power supply connector was replaced with a
4 sided pin. I tried this out on the BK to see if it made any
difference in heat against the trifericon (sp?) connectors and it
didn't. It cost more but hey it was worth a try.

Hope this answers all of your questions.

BTW this is an older picture that I took when I was selling the machine
here a while back. I went over to my parents house, where my collection
is, and saw that there was ghosting on the displays. So I brought over
a spare board and tried it out and wala! FIXED! I mounted the
replacement board and all was good to go. When I was making the auction
I realized I forgot to take a picture of the boards so I used this old
pic (say a month or 2 old) and realized after I posted it that I had a
screw-up.

BTW, yes it is mounted correctly. I'm not really good at setting up
auctions to sell but I'm trying!

Well, as far as the legs and coin door go, I think most will agree that
photos usually make things look BETTER not worse so maybe just leave
them at that;) Good job answering all the questions though, that's a
decent thing to do.

Eric:

Good luck, hope you sell it and get what you want. I guess it's obvious
that people REALLY look at the game pics and read the descriptions.
