Hiyas,

I just bought the 3.2e with the 1 meg Cache and installed in place of my 2.4 c. My puter would not turn on. the fan starts as soon as I plug in cord but nothing else works. My motherboard is the INTEL D875PBZ.I put the 2.4G back in and it works fine. The guy at FRY's said my mobo would support the cpu. Am I screwed and need to buy a new MOBO? Or am i missing something.

thanks,
Dennis

Looks like it depends on the board revision. This page may be helpful: http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/bz/bz_proc.htm

Thanks,
It seems the Fry's assumption that my motherboard would work was wrong! And now I get to spend some of my money replacing my MOBO as well. Mine was an older revision and didnt support the new processors. Gonna buy an intel D875PBZLK from new egg. Those support the new processors.
Thanks a bunch for your insight,
Dennis

Prescott are at least a bit hotter than Northwood and at equal Northwood are faster than Prescott in most apps.
