Forgot bitlocker password and recovery key..

i had locked my pen drive with bitlocker...but unfortunately i forgot my password and recovery was deleted as well...i dont need the data inside the pen drive....i just want the pen drive to be usable...

usb drives are primary partitions...and FYI primary partitions can't be deleted...and if i try to format my drive from the disk management it says.."your volume can't be formatted"

I don't see why you couldn't delete a primary partition? Any type of partition can be deleted. But if you're having too much trouble you could try with a professional tool like Acronis Disk Director.

Anyways, USB keys are so cheap nowadays that instead of loosing too much time on this just throw it away and buy a new one. Just be careful next time you use data encryption.
 


Yes, they can be deleted. Requires administrator level access.




Not if you don't know the PIN or have the recovery key. That's why you delete the partition.
