Windows XP logs out as soon as it logs in

Hii I have been using Windows XP pro..

And my system logs out as soon as it logs in..

>From previous fourms I infer that this is due to a change in the
Userinit key value.

I check the key.. and it has disappeared...

I add the key and edit it with the correct path;
i.e..
C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,

still the same problem persists..

some one pl help
