Take a look...it is supposed to be an XP 2600. It doesn't detect on my Abit NF7 2.0 and is causing reboots. I underclocked it just so I could ID it and take a look at the cache sizes. My question is...is this actually a Barton 2600? I look at the L2 and it makes me wonder...does everything check out (besides the underclocked Mhz obviously)?

post the stepping code and i can tell you exactly what it is....never seen 64k l2 cache before on an athlon.....maybe a bug in the program?

I crapped an XP2100 and it went from 256k cache to 64k cache. Could be damaged goods. Forgot to turn on the pump. Did it again recently. Lucky no damage this time, although XP didn't want to load the first couple of times.

Dichromatic for your viewing plesure...

I have it set with a multiplier of 12...odd that it is sitting at 2000Mhz. The stepping code is located on the processor itself right? I'll have to get that later today when I have a few moments.

Also, it's odd that it used to detect in BIOS as a 2600 and had its own default setting. I upgraded BIOS for my NF7 2.0 and now there is no 2600 setting...only user define. I've noticed that I get a ton of random reboots as well...mostly when the terminal is sitting with no programs open. The first thing I did was try and revert back to my old BIOS...but that didn't work...I still didn't have the 2600 setting like I used to. If I need to do anything else besides get the stepping code...let me know. Thanks for the help.

If your BIOS is up to date and WCPUID reports a DURON, you probably got ripped off. WCPUID should report 512K of L2 cache. Not 64K.
