Display problems

About a month ago, my display settings went weird. I have Windows XP Pro
and IE 6.
It's worked fine for the last 2 years. About a month ago, I turned the
computer on
and my icons were rearranged, fonts smaller and windows no longer maximized
in IE. It had worked fine the day before and I had done nothing to change
any settings. Since then the desktop is frequently disarranged and the same
other
problems appear. I reset everything each time, but it keeps reoccurring.

I have 3 identities on my computer and it seems to go weird whenever any
other identity is logged on and then I go back to mine.

Any ideas?
