So ?

Why did your post a subject as "y CD" ? Why do you consider 4 drives "too" (not two) many ?

I have...

1 - IDE DVD/RW
1 - SCSI CDROM
1 - SCSI CDR
1 - SCSI CDRW

I don't consider that too many.
