Hi. I'm looking for a home theater audio system. 2.1 and 5.1 setups are preferable. I'm looking for the best quality out there, with that price tag. We bought a Samsung E6730WZ off Best Buy, but we do have a 30 day return policy.

Recommendations?

I would return it. Quite honestly, if I had that budget, I would go 2.1 for now.
Here is what I might get:
receiver: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882115373
speakers: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882428088
subwoofer: http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/vtf-2mk4.html

That setup would be roughly 900, and would absolutely kill the samsung thing with respect to audio performance. It doesn't come with a blu-ray player though, but the receiver is future proofed in that it supports 4k resolution. The subwoofer is a beast, and an especially good value for the price. The speakers are good too, and you can upgrade to bigger front speakers in the future and use those as surround speakers. The entire Infinity Primus line are incredible performers for the money.

have you purchased a system yet? I'd be able to suggest a... well... much more thunderous setup if you don't mind gently used... better brands too... as in, tower fronts, bookshelf sides, 12" 824watt sub, and a nicer receiver :) Let me know if you're still looking...

Find this setup used (not really all that hard if you know where to look, I can help if you need it)... Strong, legitimate brands... Polk has been in the business for well over 30 years, Klipsch makes actual theater speakers and are very well known in the theater industry, and Onkyo... well, they're just wonderful :) they manufacture the audiophile brand Integra. I own ever single one of these components in different systems, except a higher version of this receiver. I garantee you'd absolutely love it, and should have money leftover :)

Fronts: http://www.polkaudio.com/products/rti100
Sides: http://www.polkaudio.com/products/rti28
Sub: http://www.klipsch.com/rw-12-subwoofer
Receiver: http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-NR509-Channel-Network-Receiver/dp/B004O0TRCO

If you're interested in a 7.1, that can be done as well... you have a healthy budget.
