Which of these are faster, and by how much?

AMD Turion™ Neo X2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor (1.6GHz)
or
Intel Core2 Duo processor SU7300 (1.3GHz)

thanks!

Actually, if you go to the direct comparison list (which I couldn't link) the two CPUs are very comparable. The Core2 edges the Neo out in 6 benchmarks, ties 1 and loses 3. Except in 3Dmark06, the wins for the Core2 aren't by staggering numbers.

Honestly I'd say this comes down to price and other specs.

I am leaning strongly toward the Asus, only concern was the cpu which sounded weak cause it's 1.3. I know that 1.3 of one can be faster than 2.3 of another, I'm just very not up to date on CPUs now

The Dell.
1. Max 4 GB Ram and I need to have the option to go to 8
2. Much more money - once you bring it to 4GB, and one year accidental insurance
3. And - most important - I don't see the weight which is very important to me.

How can I find the direct comparison list, I'm new to Tom's.

It's here: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Processors-Benchmar...

You are going to have to search for the two processors, select them and hit the "restrict" button.

The Dell V13 weighs 3.5 lbs: http://www.dell.com/us/en/business/notebooks/vostro-v13...

Since I posted the msg I spoke to dell they told me it starts a 4.0 lbs.
But otherwise it looks nice only big problem I have with it is the 4GB limitation, which is a problem for me. For a 2 GB notebook this is a great price.

That's probably with the adapter. If it's not up to your needs, I won't push it.

As far as the CPUs go, if all you are planning on doing is surfing the web, email and some MS Office type stuff then either the Asus or the Toshiba will be fine.

well I do a lot more - development and some photoshop. But can I get something this light (or lighter) that is noticeably more powerful for 800 or less?

Honestly, no. I'm having a hard time finding anything with better specs that comes under 4.5 lbs. Dell has the Inspiron 14z and the Vostro 3400, but they are both a little heavier. HP has a couple along the same lines as the Dell.
