Sorry, I am getting a bit carried away. I usually don't ever spend money like this. It is a big splurge thing. It is just that considering the overall cost of the build $50-$100 doesn't seem like all that much. (till I am eating peanut butter and jelly for a month). I read that mobile xp ocs awesome. I never would have even thought a mobile processor would have fit in a regular mobo if I hadn't been on this forum bugging the crap out of you guys for the last week.:< ) I still might go with that mobile xp though. How is your gamming performance with that mobile xp oced and the 9600 pro? Are all the benchmarks and all this jazz just pretty much a bunch of hype? You think you would see a difference with an athlon 64 or is just hype and abstract benchmarks?

Socket754 Athlon64 totally kicks ass in games at 2.42Ghz(probably max for Athlon64 on air) i can eat the AthlonXP M at 2.8Ghz(probably AthlonXP's max on air) anytime at anyday for lunch in games, the integrated memory controller REALLY REALLY helps!

Athlon64 likes low timings, but they don't mind a little divider for the CPU/Mem though, so i'm running at 290HT a little over 210 on the ram, with the timings of 2-3-2-10. I've achieved this wich generic Samsung ram with heatspreaders. If you got money to blow away on those top brand memories, i would go with the Mushikin's top Black Level II, i haven't read much on the CorsairXP so i wouldn't know. Personally I was broke after the whole athlon64 system.

I changed to 2x512 Samsung, since 3x512 won't run any faster than 133mhz. Now i can run at 210.

if you have the money id say the LL corsair model is the better buy. but ahtlon 64 chips dont take much slow down becuase of slower memory timings like a p4 might. I suggest you save your money and just get the regular corsair pair and be happy with that, since your not overclocking, there isnt alot of reason to invest in bleeding edge timings.

I'm broke, that's the reason i went with samsung, personally for my Athlon64 system if i had the money i'd definently have went with 2x512 OCZ PC3700 Rev1 gold memory. Since they can run at 233 with 2.5-3-3-7, and they run on Athlon64 nForce3 150 chipset at 250mhz with 2-2-3-6 no problem. It's definently not a waste of money to get the high-performance memories. OCZ PC3700 Gold Rev1's gone now, and i haven't seen many other memories that can do 250 with 2-2-3-6, and the other factor's that Athlon64 doesn't mind a divider, so if i were you i'd get some 2-2-3-5 PC3200 ram, since they're soooo much cheaper than 2-2-2-5, then pump 2.8-2.9Vdimm through it and force the 2-2-2-5. Use a CPU/12 Divider, then you can have HT at 240, and memory at default 200. This will give you great performance. If you're going with the 3200+, this will give you a 2400mhz processor. This WILL rape the AthlonXP M at 2.8ghz any day in almost ANYTHING!! And not to mention this could be done with 1.7Vcore on stockcooling.

Go for the extreme then, or you could try the C2 with 2.8vdimm and see if you can get the 2-2-2-5.

Your broke. Time to sell your OCed vid card.

I'm leaning to buying a MSI 6800ultra, well when they come out, they're going to be about 500CAD. About a hundred bucks more than the X800Pro, but apparently it's gonna be about a hundred bucks cheaper than the X800XT.

ok ill say this again

for non ocing get : corsair twinx1024-3200c2

if you want to oc get: OCZ PC-3700EB 1gb kit
and dont ask about the latency witht he ocz ram, its a special process that ocz uses that provides performance without extreme timings. and its shown to oc very well on athlon systems.
