There is a MM Drawbrige Assembly on Mr Pinball for $895. Is this a
part that is likely to wear out and become unrepairable? I know gears
are available for it. Opinions please.
Thanks,
Ron

These assemblies are being remade with a better gate. They are
supposed to be available this year, I think by Expo.

Are you sure about that???

Take a look at the pics on this auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NOS-Medieval-Madness-Castle-Assembly-A-22033-Rare_W0QQitemZ6199853169QQcategoryZ13727QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

(you might have to cut/paste to get the link to work)

I think this is the assembly that is being remade. Isn't it? It has
both...

No biggie :)

I'm glad you brought it up, because it turns out I was wrong too. I
thought the assembly would be complete, plug & play. I'm glad Kerry
posted and cleared-up the misconception.

Either way, I can't wait to see these. I saw the gates at Expo last
year in Kerry's booth and they're sweeeeeet! I have no doubt that the
assemblies Kerry is making will be better & sturdier than what WMS
produced. My gate has a broken tooth, and I've been holding off on
replacing it because I'd rather put the good stuff in there...

Wayne lists the drawbridges on his up-coming parts forum, so hopefully
they'll be available around the same time and I can get away with
taking the thing apart once :)

The MM assembly I'm making will be a new beastie. Basically you will
transfer your existing gears, motor, switches etc to the new platform. The
new platform will have a stronger gate that looks like a gate. The platform
will include a protector for the drawbridge when its up much like my
existing protector. When its all said and done it'll be very nice and far
more durable. Add to the fact that you can get the gates in brass or
polished stainless you can dress your game out the way you want.
I'm hoping for an expo date on delivery but this trough took longer
then expected so I don't know whether the time table has been pushed back
yet. I can only hope . . . :) It'll be considerably cheaper then $ 895 .
.. . but it won't be complete . . . you'll still have to move your existing
stuff to it.
Unfortunately for me the change of expo dates leaves me unlikely to
have a space . . . I will still be there thursday and possibly friday but
the weekend is out. I'll have to work with another vendor to display my new
wares ;-)

Kerry should I be able to make the show, and get the logistics worked
out, I'll be glad to host your product if I can.

This is the whole "plug n play" unit. I actually have one of these
stashed away. Quite frankly, $ 895 is a great price considering that
these were about $ 500.00 when you could get them through the
distributor. The whole NOS assembly is valued at $ 1,200 to $ 1,500.
The one on Mr. Pinball is not a bad deal.

Scott.
