I have owned a cyclone since1993 and the biggest display problem I see
is the most significant bit flashes after the score is rolled over. I
don't believe it should be doing that. But appears to be software
induced. I would have been nice if Williams would have put that game on
their 16 digit displays and ran the score to 99,999,999. Is there any
demand for making a conversion kit that would do this for cyclone? Both
the pinball factory and Illinois Pinball could make some good money on
a conversion kit that included a new display panel the speaker board
with new front plastic and new rooms that had the adjusted scoring
code. Likewise. They could even put in a double scoring fix so when you
go through the cyclone with double scoring and collect the jackpot it
would actually award double the jackpot value. That would definitely
add more challenge to the game.

Yes, it's supposed to flash to signify that you rolled it. However I
think it only records in the software tables 9,999,999.... other sys11
with the 4 discrete displays do. Doubtful that any software mods like
this are going to come from official sources, there are people out
there doing reprogramming of games (OliverK) that have done the older
ones to make 7 digits out of 6 - maybe he'll tackle something like
this..... you could probably have some signifier that the score is over
> (maybe scroll it back and forth)

well the reason i am bring up this post in the first place it the flash
is dammaging the first players display's most significent digit. It
would be nice to actually have a scoring system that could handle the
scoring that cyclone commonly reaches when the player is very good at
playing the game.

i think it also flashes the first digit if you scored the jackpot award to
show you didn't actually EARN all those points....
