Playfied glass cleaning

For those of you who have a hard time getting the playfield glass clean
here is the way I clean glass for pinballs, house windows and
especially car windows. Its the cheapest solution to use.

Mix 1 part vinegar, 3 parts water(I use distilled water) and a small
dap of Dawn dish soap. (I used 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 1/2 cup water and
maybe a teaspoon of Dawn)Put in a spray bottle and mix.

Now the most important part is not to use paper towel, use newpaper. I
know some of you think it won't work but it's incredible. Just make
sure to have a dry newpaper on the final wipes of the glass for the
best results. If you have a car that always has that cloudy film on the
inside window try this.

After using this mix I will never use windex and paper towel again for
cleaning windows. Just try it and you will see what I mean.

Just my 2 cents

Kyle Thanks for the tip I'll have try it. I was thinking of using
rain-X on the glass after it was cleaned. Anyone tried this? I believe
it would accomplish a couple of things. First the tears you shed from
those ball drains just before you achieve the wizard mode will just
roll right off!!! But seriously I think it would provide a clearer view
through the glass because of the way Rain-x works, by filling those
microscopic holes lessening obstacles for rain droplets to collect on.
Also I believe the glass will be easier to clean later on.

Disclaimer: This may be a bad idea and I cannot be held responsible for
any damage or injuries suffered as the result of the above suggestion
being followed:)

Once in CA is saw a cleaning lady using newspaper and ice cubes to
clean windows. I assume she was good at what she did but I have yet to
try it, I trust good old windex with that great amonia smell.

Does the vinigar smell bad? I tried it to clean my house tiles but when
I was done the house smelled like I giant douche exploded, yuck! Now I
just use water in a spray bottle and towels. soapy mop water is hell on
the grout.

Have fun, Karl.

Stoner's Invisible Glass using, yes, crumpled newspaper is the best
I've ever seen. Picked that tip up from car detailing web sites.
About $4 at any auto parts store, Target, Wal Mart etc. It'll lift the
fog left behind by Windex and other cheap cleaners - they just aren't
as good.

Stoners Invisible Glass is the real deal.. don't accept anything less.
Its cheap, incredibly effective and best balence of cleaning power and
no mess. Definatly use newspaper.. or if you have any.. you can use
microfiber towels as they leave absolutly nothing behind and your glass
isn't that dirty anyways.

Take this from a car detailing nut :)

Just look here for a sample

1 drop of dish soap in a gallon of water works great if there are a lot of
windows to be cleaned.

I like windex for my pins. Cleans glass and sanitizes lockdown bars and
flipper buttons.

You Can use newspaper with plain old blue windex as well... Great on car
windshields also...
It's an old trick though paper towels work fine here on my pins.

Note: do be aware that vinegar is corrosive in nature and only get it on
the Glass or you migh cause grief elsewhere.

I personally will not use vinegar products such as green windex to clean my
pins with. It'll take the paint right off of
score reels on EMs and off of at least some bumper caps. So I'd keep it off
of any artwork to be safe.

Be Careful and

I use Windex and it's OK.

Next time when walking downtown in a large city, stop and ask a window
washer what they use to wash windows. it's typically nothing more than
a small amount of Dawn in a bucket of warm water. the trick they use
is around the squeegee. no long strokes unless necessary. they soap
the window first and then use a quality squeegee to get all the soapy
water off without lifting the squeegee until at the very bottom of the
window. works great but the trick is in the squeegee quality and the
art of wiping off the soapy water. no streaks either. it can be
relaxing to just watch them do it. don't know what it is.

Number one is newspaper (newsprint, not glossy flyers). The glass
cleaner, as long as it's glass cleaner (or the like), doesn't really
matter I have found. Water and newpaper can work.

I think Rick Swanson took it a step further and used windshield wipers.

I guess you didn't see the Dateline segment where they tested several
normal public places for germs. Fecal matter is virtually everywhere
people touch things, doorknobs, handrails, coffee pots, copiers,
elevators...

Some percentage of people never wash their hands when they defecate and
subsequently spread it all over the place.

Sprayway Glass Cleaner (aerasol) about 4 bucks, sold in most
supermakets.
Works great...better than windex IMO.

I don't get it. I have always used windex and paper towels or anything
then finish with another coat of original blue windex and a squeegee
(both sides, all this with the glass out). Works perfect

most workers in food service today come from countries where running water
is unheard of. they have not been washing their hands all their lives so
when they hop on the jet and come here why would any of those old habits
change?

Yup! Sprayway is very good stuff. I've thought about carrying it on my

I heard it was also all over the walls of Micheal Jacksons Jail
(holding) cell, except then it was called poopy fecies.

Hey we have had multiple "wax wars" over here for years - I
guess the "windex wars" just had to happen ;-)

The show I saw found fecal matter in every office suite they checked,
even NBC's own offices. I've certainly witnessed more than a few
co-workers who don't wash their hands after using the restroom. People
who were born and raised in the US. Ignorance is no excuse for those people.

Mom always told you to wash your hands.

With that said, bacteria is part of what makes us tick. It digests our food.
It lives in our mouth and on our skin.

Some bacteria is good. Some is bad.

Wash your hands before you stick them in your eyes, nose, or mouth.

Have you ever had dysentery? I truly wanted to just die and get it over
with. My doctor couldn't believe I hadn't been out of the country when
the tests came back. Just working in the kitchen at Harrah's in Lake Tahoe.
