I have WinXP Pro installed on my system and i have one Hitachi 32x CD-ROM Drive and one Yamaha 20x CD-Burner. The problem is that sometimes, neither of them will detect a CD if i put it in (they act like there is no CD in there) and i have to restart my computer in order for them to read it properly. Sometimes also when i take a CD out (that worked perfectly) and put another one in, AGAIN neither of the two CD drives will read it. They act like there is no CD in them and i get a window telling me to enter a CD!!! And as always, i have to restart to solve the problem.... Btw my master-slave settings as follows:

Primary Master: 10GB HD
Secondary Master: Hitachi 32x CD-Rom

Primary Slave: 2,4GB HD
Secondary Slave: Yamaha 20x CD-Burner

Can someone please help me on this

Try putting your HDD's on one cable, and your cd's on the other, and reinstall them. I've never had this problem, so I'm only guessing.
HDD=1 primary and 1 slave
CD=1 primary and 1 slave
Only a suggestion. This is how mine are set up. And I never had a problem.

I'm not really stupid...... I just play one on TV.

had a similar prob on my sys (2k pro) after installing nero 5.5.9 (or somthinh with a 9 in!!), 1 x plextor ultraplex and 1 x yammy burner, both scsi on an adaptec 2940 card, I finally fixed it by replacing winaspi32 with an older one

If they squeeze olives to get olive oil, how do they get baby oil?
