I'm about to buy a new laptop for when schools starts as I will be attending to a privat IT school. I'll be majoring in Game-design and I was given a few requrements for the laptop I'll have to buy.

Requirements:
- RAM: minimum 2GB, but 3GB recommended.
- Graphics card: nVidia 9800M GTX / ATI radeon or a graphic card that supports DX10 and strong enough to run "Shader model 4.0".
- Graphic card: A minimum of 512MB memory.

There's two computers I've been looking at with interest, the first one was a "HP Pavillion dv62-158so". It's spesifications were:
Intel Core i5
Windows 7 home premium
GHz: 2,53
CPU Cache: 3MB L2
6GB RAM
500GB Capacity
Graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce GT M320
Video memory: 1024MB

(It's in Norwegian, sorry.)

The other computer I looked at (and I came over this laptop by pure accident) was a "ASUS N61JA CI5 2.26 4GB/640 RADEON 5730 16" W7HP"
Spesifications:
Intel Core i5 430M
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit
GHZ: 2,26
4GB RAM
640GB Capacity
Graphic card: ATi Radeon HD 5730
Video memory: 1024MB

After looking at these two I'm leaning the most towards Asus N61JA, but I wanted someone else's oppinions too. I'm planning to buy either on next week.

The second one is a better choice,but a 5730M isn't as powerful as a 9800MGTX

"Graphics card: nVidia 9800M GTX / ATI radeon or a graphic card that supports DX10 and strong enough to run "Shader model 4.0". "
That's a desktop card. For a laptop, I recommend either the Asus G60jx-RBBX05 or the Asus G72gx-RBBX05. Pretty cheap, both quite powerful for gaming (because game-playing is an important part of game-designing) and probably the closest to the recommendations while staying under 1000 dollars.
