go to control panel> network> remove client for microsoft network or microsoft family logon.

remove both of those if you have them.

If you can't beat 'em kill 'em

Or simply go into Network Properties in the way described above, and in the drop down box titled "Primary Network Logon," select "Windows Logon."

Tweak UI is a great little tool.
You can download it from Microsofts site at <A HREF="http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads/PowerToys/Networking/NTTweakUI.asp" target="_new">Tweak UI 1.33</A>

Hello,

I wouldn't suggest using TweakUI in Windows ME. Although most of the components will work ok with ME, it may cause more problems then it fixes. See Q237920 for more information.

Check out
Q152104 - How to Prevent a Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Me Logon Prompt at Startup

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q152/1/04.asp

The KEY points are...

1. Change the Primary Network Login to "Windows Login"

2. Turn on = All users of this PC use the same preferences and desktop settings

If you are still prompted for a password on the next start up simply enter a NEW username and press OK (NOT CANCEL).

Good Luck!
