How does the Athlon XP 2400+ overclock? I bought it in the beginning of 03, so the multiplier is unlocked. With a decent heatsink like the TT Silent Boost and AS3, could I get to 2700+ speed? (166 x 13)

My System:
Athlon XP 2400+
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Corsair 512 MB DDR400
GeForce4 Ti 4200
Western Digital 80 GB w/8 MB
Seagate 20 GB

Just keep Vcore under 1.8 if you want to be 100% safe, i'm sure you'll get there no problem. Keep temps below 60C as well.

I know someone who got that chip (around the same time too) to 13x166 with the retail heatsink and default vcore, so it should be no problem.

I know someone who got that chip to 13.5 X 166 with stock cooling, and stock voltages. Me. I even went a little higher with the fsb, but the thing became a little unstable above 2250, with the stock fan, and voltages.

With your board and ram, you may want to try for higher fsb, with a lower multiplier.

i think my axp 2400 is junk for overclocking, i got unlucky :-(

it will only go to 190x11.5(basically will only go to 2200 mghz) with 1.85 volts

That's not bad considering it is a desktop xp not a mobile xp. Your running it at 3200+ speeds. If I were you I would take the fsb to 200 and drop the muitiplier to 10 or 11. That way you can take full advantage of your ram. running at a higher bus is more important IMO.
