Windows 7 doesn't boot, then disappears

Tags:

Ok so 2 days ago I built a new computer, I installed both windows 7 and 8 (had windows 7 upgrade and could only install if had other windows, windows 8 I don't use so I used that) and installed games and updates and other blah.
First weird thing happening, yesterday when I installed SP1 for 7 and went to BIOS tO enable this intel feature which required SP1 and I had all requirments. Yet it did not let me enable it. Nothing big, I just le it. The next weird thing is when I started booting recently it went to a black screen for a minute or two before I access my account, you could see my cursor.
Then when I was playing Borderlands 2 I quit playing and checked for updates, 3 optional updates. I checked them all then updated and reset. I went to get some water and when I come back there is this recovery thing. After I enter user name pass, and stuff, it gives me options. One was startup repair. I tried that, couldn't fix. Tried the memory tests, nothing. I idn't want to use system restore but then I tried it. BUT it could not restore, there was a error.
Now I check BIOS but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. A few restarts and then I try windows 8.
It worked, no problem.
I try restarting and now there was no option for windows 7, just straight to 8.
I am stumped.
