Brother MFC-440CN SCANNING

I was given a Brother MFC-440 CN from a friend. I have Vista on my computer and I was able to download the drivers. The User's Guide does not tell you how to scan. It says "See Software user's Guide on the CD-ROM which I do not have.
Any suggestions on how to use this unit as a scanner.
Please advise.

Did you start the software and see what options it has? Or try scanning with the built-in Vista utility?
