I've been doing my best to self-research this subject, but I'm a little hesitant to buy anything atm.

So far I'm considering these:

Feel free to recommend any other monitor as long as its a 27". I'm currently using a 32" and theres no way I'm going back to the 23"-24" monitors. Keep it around the same price range too. Please send me any comments as well.

Make your choice based upon the reviews of the monitors.

Asus monitors are generally inexpensive and have average quality build. They are a step below more established brands like Dell, Samsung, NEC since Asus' monitor casings are basically all plastic and feels a bit cheap. But Asus monitors are generally considered to be good for their "bang for the buck".

Planar is mostly known for their high end medically certified monitors (for X-Rays, CAT scans, MRIs, etc). They have been selling LCD monitors in the consumer area for over 10 years, but they haven't really been successful with brand recognition. I actually bought two high end consumer level Planar monitors; the PX191 ($675) back in 2003 and the PX2611w ($800) in 2009. I know their higher end consumer level monitors are good, but not sure about their low end monitors; like the one you selected.

Like I stated, read the reviews to help you decide.
