Hard disk problem

Hello,
my 640 GB Transcend external hard disk is asking me to format it. I have many important files in it. Please help me to solve my problem as I need those files

Not good.

I would recommend taking it out of the plastic casing and attempting to connect it directly to the computer (via SATA) as a next step.
