I'm pretty much out of options, Elmo. Can't you help me
with my thread from about a week ago?

Thanks!

I had a similar issue where my cpu usage shot right up...
basically appeared to stall out all activity on the
system. Sometimes the cpu did reboot itself. The event
monitor in XP Pro was recording an undetermined vxd error
which often turns out to be graphics related and in my
case I had recently installed a new card - Radeon 9800.
That all checked out ok though.
Sometimes the zone was involved in the slowdown..
sometimes not. I also use hogs like word processing
program, data base programs etc - all heavy resource
use. After much headache with nothing definitive
identified I installed a new processor to accommodate
either the heavy use or poorly utilized use of resources
by software and hardware both. Whatever the case the
issue is now resolved. I no longer experience any
slowness in changing programs or having several open at
once.
In fact it's pretty darn fast!
