Portable Laptop

Hi, so I asked a question about a good multimedia laptop. Thanks a ton to all the guys who answered! Your answers really helped, but unfortunately I decided that kind of laptop couldn't really be lugged around everywhere. So i thought I'd buy that as my desktop replacement, and use another one for portability and taking to college. Here's what I need

1_What is your budget?
As less as possible! Ideally between $200-$500. But I can reconsider if the specifications are really worth it.

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
Ideally 15" or less for portabilty. More importantly, it's weight should be less than 7lb

3_What screen resolution do you want?
No Preference.

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Portable.

5_How much battery life do you need?
As high as possible. Preferably 5-7 hours

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
No games

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing,watching movies, Etc.)
HDMI out with 1080p for video playback, or at least 720p(MINIMUM)! I'm obsessed with my movies and tv shows  
Plus I want this laptop to leek sleek, to say the least. My new desktop replacement isn't relle kind to the eyes  

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
I'd like SSD storage of at least 40GB. But I realize that'll drive up the cost so I dun mind 7200RPM drives of 80GB+ as I can install a new SSD drive later.

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
No site chosen yet. Preferably something from USA or Canada.

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?
I want it to last the entire 4 years of college.

11_What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
I'd be fine if it doesn't have an optical drive.

12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
Hopefully Dell again, but I searched a lot, and other than the mini, none really matched my specifications.

13_What country do you live in?
Live in India, but can purchase it from Canada or USA as well.


14_Please tell us any additional information if needed.
My main priority is the 1080p video playback via HDMI, but I can sacrifice it for 720p, and that it should last for at least 4 years. I'll be mainly using it to create reports,so basic document editing, internet surfing and watching movies.

And I have time to buy this laptop. If I buy it in USA, by July end at least, and if in Canada, before mid-Spetember
