I bought intel pentium northwood 3G,
but the store gave me by mistake prescott 3G.

should i keep the prescott or replace it back?

Are you kidding, Prescott is better than Northwood, has more cache and SSE3.

Prescott L2 cache: 1Mb

Northwood L2 cache: 512KB

Don't return it.

Northwood Runs Cooler, and performs slightly better at almost everything than a Prescott at the same speed. That's <i>why</i> Scotty comes with more cache - Intel needed to do something to help it's performance.
