Hey, my friend has an HP Pavillion with a 2.4 Celery. I got her to buy a P4 2.8/533 to pop in the system to replace that crap Celeron. However, everytime I start the system with the P4 I get no post. It only wants to take the Celeron! Is there anything that can be done to get that Hewlett Crappard to take the P4? I know the board is right because it's an 845 Chipset so that's not the problem. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I didn't realize that the 845GL Chipset didn't support 533 bus......is there still anyway I can get that damn board to read the processor?

Try a bios update, if that doesn't help you may be boned. Pre-builts don't normally allow for any advance changes in the bio (such as fsb.)
