Sound like you need to point Windows towards the driver for the LAN card.
Try getting the driver at one of these pages, extract it into a folder, and update the PCI Simple Communications Controller in the Device Manager by right-clicking on the device, choosing to update the driver, and browsing to the folder that contains the driver files.

It might also be necessary to move the card to another PCI slot in case of device conflicts before attempting to install the new driver.
