Would i5430M, 3mb cache, 4 GB RAM be a good choice for programming exp

Hi All,

I am planning to buy a laptop with i5 430M, 3MB cache, 4GB DDR3 RAM and Intel high def graphic card. My main purpose is to do programming practice in large scale and play 3d games (NFS lates version ), I'm a software engineer. Can you guys help me with this whether it would be a good choice if I want to have experience in multithreading programmings and scintific uses.
