I have been running win 7 64 bit on three different x86 64 bit machines for several years with little or no major issues other than searching for drivers and so forth. however out of blue today the run command which i can turn on or off via the task bar properties and elseware. Its turned on and its not in the menu here start is on the other two machines. Should i reload the os or fool with registry?

Best Regards,
Jamie S.

"fool with registry" if you're not in the MIS/IT field do not touch it.
From the start menu you can right click drag the run command to the taskbar and either "pin to taskbar" or "create shortcut".
You mean it opens by default on boot ? Go to boot configuration and disable it.
