I took my Athlon XP 1800+ out of a defunked motherboard and put it into a Giga-Byte GA-7VT600 1394 motherboard. Everything works and all except the CPU is running at 1.12 GHz. I know it isn't spose to clock at 1.8 GHz but it is spose to clock at 1.53 GHz at default. At startup the BIOS says it is just an Athlon CPU running at 1.12 GHz and gives the CPU ID 0662. I have looked online and I can't seem to find what this ID corresponds to.
I have the multiplier and FSB set to default, meaning the multiplier is at 11.0 and the FSB is 100 MHz.
I also installed that Easy Tune 4 that comes with the motherboard and tried setting the FSB to 133 MHz but the computer crashed within 5 mins.
Does anybody know what is going on or know what the FSB and multipler should be set to for a normal Athlon XP 1800+?
