Core i7 720 qm vs i5 450m (1.6Ghz vs 2.4Ghz)

Hi, i'll be buying a laptop this month i really confused what to get, i always play the new titles like CoD or Crysis and i want a decent laptop to play those games and use it also to work, mainly for rendering or video editing. (adobe after effects and 3d studio max)

the problem is that i dont know if the core i7 will perform better than the i5, i know that the i7 has 4 cores and 8 threads double the i5 but will i get a better performance? cause the i5 has double the clock than the i7.
