Annoying sound

why does my asus computer keep playing a really annoying sound

need a weee bit more information. Like where does it appear to be coming from? When does it happen? Is it all the time or just certain times? The more info the better.

I dunno, but on a related note, anyone know why my toe keeps itching?

If the sound is from the speakers (such as each time you click it plays a sound), you should start by doing a virus scan, in windows 7/vista, go to personalization options (should be accessible by a right click on the desktop), and select the default sounds & tones profile.
