Hello everyone, I am looking for a gaming laptop and so far have narrowed the selection down to two choices. Based on price and the specs I am stuck between the Xplorer X7-7700 and the Asus G73JH. Can someone help me decide please.

The X7, 4gb of ram, 1.73 i7 8m cache and 5870 graphics card ($1565)
The G73Jh, 8gb of ram, 1.6 i7 6m cache and 5870 graphics card (~$1800)

Also if the resolution really affects gaming would 1920x1080 vs 1680x1050 make a huge difference?

The resolution, of course will make the game look better, i.e. the higher the better. However, the more you increase the resolution and other factors (things like AA), the more it stresses the graphics card. I'd say out of the two that you have narrowed it down to, I'd go with the X7, as it is the better deal. It may have less RAM, but I unless you use programs and such that are memory intensive, I don't think it will make much of a difference. Plus, you're getting a pretty good deal on the i7-820 as well.
