Where should I download my drivers for my hardware from?
[Chipset, AGP, onboard LAN,sound & Storage Drivers]
My Chipset Site( <font color=green>VIA P4M266</font color=green> ) or Motherboard Site?
-am using a <font color=green> Mercury </font color=green> motherboard.
-Drivers are available at both places.
I was thinking the Motherboard site......at first...
-Am using Win98, -P4 1.7Ghz
-my display driver too,-Riva TNT2 M64 which is
there at nVidia & <font color=green> Mercury </font color=green>,the company brand.
Please assist me as to which place would be better ?
(especially for the Chipset,AGP & Storage Drivers)
If the system is white box (built by a local dealer, or you assembled the computer), I'd use the drivers from the chipset site, as they are usually newer. But if the system is OEM, (Dell, Gateway, etc) then I'd download the drivers per the model number of the computer from the vendor, as these computers are proprietary.
