Running speed of a mobile Athlon 64 3200+?

I have rescently purchased a laptop with an athlon 64 3200+ processor, but im puzzled about the system properties of my computer....

It states that the processor is running at 800 mhz.. which surely cant be right. I have been told that the athlon 64 3200+ chips run at 2 ghz..

Computer:
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor
3200+
800 mhz
1.00 GB of RAM

I am aware that P4 processors in laptops have power stepping, my brothers 2.8 ghz slows to 1.6 ghz when it does not need to run at high speed, but even when i play a game such as halo, the processor speed in these system properties never goes over 800 mhz.

Does anyone know why this is happening?
