SEMINAR
A pinball transistor seminar will be held as just one part of this
fall's "Pinball Circus".

October 1st, 2005

TIME
1:00 to 2:00 PM.

PLACE
SS Billiards in Hopkins, MN, USA.

REGISTRATION
$10.00 per person in advance.

DETAILS
The seminar is a joint effort of Pinball Renaissance - TCFPA
(http://www2.bitstream.net/~miekoa/pinball/)
and
Great Plains Electronics
(http://www.greatplainselectronics.com/default.asp)

This basic seminar will include but not be limited to:
1) Electro Static Discharge (ESD) protection basics
2) introduction to basic electronics
3) DMM instructional basics
4) transistor identification
5) transistor testing
6) transistor troubleshooting

The seminar is scheduled to run for 20 - 30 minutes. Time will be
allotted afterwards for those wishing to perform their own transistor
replacement immediately following the presentation.

REQUIREMETS
Pre-registration
Pre-registration is required by no later than Saturday, September 17th.

A casher's or personal check for $10.00 is needed by Saturday,
September 17th.

Tools (Each student is required to bring the following tools.)
Magnifying Glass
Digital Multi Meter (DMM) with diode and / or transistor checker
capabilities.

Supplies
Each student is required to bring the transistor needed for
replacement; should he decide to replace a transistor after the
seminar. Also, see below in the "TROUBLESHOOTING TOOLS" section.

CLASEROOM MATERIALS
Each student will be given the following just before the seminar.
1) Pen
2) Classroom hand out
3) ESD bag with miscellaneous electronic components
The components are courtesy of Great Plains Electronics. The bag of
components, along with the pen and hand out are the student's to keep.

Each student will receive the following upon completion of the seminar.
1) Copy of the test
2) Certificate of participation

TROUBLESHOOTING TOOLS
Hand tools and soldering equipment will be available for those wishing
to replace their own transistor in their own pinball boards after the
seminar.

CHANGES
Those pre-registered will receive email or mail updates or changes
before the October 1st class.
