Doom 3 CPU performance tweak?

Has anyone else tried this? It supossedly reduces the load to the CPU.

I tried it last night. I am more concerned with FPS than CPU load, and on my machine is actually made my FPS go down just slightly. Not sure why.

Was posted in the Gfx card section a couple of days ago go read up on it there.Seems like it works for some people but not for others.
