Hi, I'm new to building computers and not really sure what to build. This rig will be for gaming. I have a monitor, mouse and keyboard. So far I've decided to go with a AMD64 processor. My Budget is about 1100. Can you please post some suggestions on parts thanks for all the help.

You caught me off guard, i am laughing outloud at you.

Alright dude, let me break this down for you.
This question gets asked about 3 maybe 4 times a week. Read every post in the last 2weeks in this topic of the forum. After you know about what you want, maybe some people can help clearify differences between one part and another or if you are divided about two.
Check recomendations, check Newegg.com for prices, and come back with atleast A LITTLE bit of homework done.

But for 1100, personally i would get a p4EE, and try to find the rest of the parts for 100bucks and see what would happen.

doesnt the EE stand for extreme edition and doesnt that mean that processor cost like $$900+.
i was thinking for of a setup like this
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 1MB (754) -214
AOpen MK89-L nForce3 150 Chipset -85
EVGA Nvidia 6800 GT -399
so thats $700
now i need suggestions for the rest of the computer

Everyone likes corsair ram. I went with kingston cuz my friend recommended it... he also recommended soyo motherboards so I won't be taking advice from him any longer. The extreme edition thing was a joke by the way.

AMD 64 3400+
MSI K8N Neo Platinum
1 GB Kingston HyperX PC3200
ATI AIW 9600XT
WD Raptor 74GB

MB i'd recommend the MSI K8N Neo platinum or FISR depending on budget.

Generic PC3200 ram would do the job well get 1G of it.

HDD i'd recommend 2 160G or 120G's on raid0

dual layer DVDRW aren't that expensive, could pick up one of those.

A decent FSP, Enermax power would do a well something around 450watts.
