Hello,
I have a SOYO motherboard that is capable of utilizing an AMD 2100, I have an AMD 1700+ in there now. Would it make a huge difference if I upgraded to the 2100?

Not huge, small difference.

Might be advised to add more RAM, higher than 512mb is always better and will be more noticeable in your case.

Upgrading video card can also be more noticeable than the upgrade cpu your talking about.

If it supports the 2100, the latest BIOS will probably support the 2400.

Not a good upgrade.

Save money and upgrade your video card or get new (CPU + mobo) combo later
