If I glanced at a spilt box of tooth picks on the floor, could I tell you how many are in the pile. Not a chance, But then again I don't have to buy my underware at Kmart.
I would look at <A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=186764#186764" target="_new">this</A> before you decide.

How come there are two threads with the same subject and same posts?... Is this a system malfunction?
A64: probably the best choice; if you can afford a s939 system, it's the greatest thing money will buy right now. Nothing reaches s939 currently; s754 is very good too. A64 rules in games.
P4C/E: Good for video encoding, but try and avoid the 1MB cache chips; they're prescotts and are unnecessarily hotter. These chips are no slouches either, but they're somewhat behind A64 chips and are right now less sophisticated. They're quite above AXP processors, though.

surly he knows all this. what he wants to know is what cpu is best. just saying graphics card will make more difference (while true) is not what he is asking. He wants to know what cpu is best. for cad and gaming.
oh the irony
I think the real question is what works best when gaming and designing a new jumbo airplane in cad all at the same time.

You have anything to back up your Intel recommendation or are you just trolling for them again?

Yes, you pair an A64 with an nForce3 250 chipset and you're on top automatically. Add Socket 939 and you're better still!
