Need help lookng Small Speakers with Very Clear sound with good bass. (for my laptop)
Budget is 200, I am looking for the best sounds possible that will last year. Will spend a little more if i have to. I like clear sound with no bass distortion if possible.

There are a lot of speakers out there for this money. Stay away from Bose they are junk! Go to a site called audio Asylum and read what they have to say.Genius for the money is decent.Good Luck

You'd most likely end up with muddy bass from small drivers so my $0.02 :
buy speakers based on the SQ you'd settle for at a certain price point not the size....

Muddy bass to me is when the woofer cone starts distorting and trying to keep up with the volume and Hz range it can't reproduce well. Generally this can be fixed with EQ.

Another thing you could consider would be to get a DAC. They range anywhere from $150-$1000 and many can up sample your bit rate. An MP3 is about the worst creation ever, and you loose so much quality in the compression. Some of that you can recover with a DAC.
