Monitor problem

Hello,
My samsung 206bw monitor has been having problems. When you turn it on, you get a black screen and then every 3-5 seconds or so the screen flashes on for a fraction of a second. After a while (5-30 minutes or more) it works normally. this happens even when not connected to a computer. Any idea what is wrong with it and is it worth trying to get it repaired?

It might be an easy repair, it might be an expensive repair.

I'm guessing just having someone look at it will cost $50 or so.

Problem solved. The answer was given in the first post of the official monitors repair thread. one of the links given show my exact monitor and problem. replace the capacitors . Cost $40 to have someone do it, but now I know what an easy fix it is. Do it myself next time
